Make the link scan-friendly
- Use https. Phones warn about plain http pages; we add https:// if you leave it out.
- Keep it short. Every character adds dots to the code. Remove tracking leftovers such as
?fbclid=…and print larger if the address must stay long. - Check the page on a phone. The person scanning is on a small screen — open the link on yours first.

If the destination might change
A static code cannot be edited after printing — the address is inside the pattern. If the page may move, point the code at an address you control and can redirect (a page on your own domain), or use a QR Shop page, which keeps the same printed code while you change what it shows.
Test the destination as a visitor
Open the exact URL in a private browser window before generating the code. Confirm that a customer can see the intended page without your account being signed in. A link copied from an editor, a private cloud folder or an administration page may work for you but ask everyone else to log in.
After downloading, scan the exported image on a phone using mobile data as well as your own Wi-Fi. Check that redirects finish on the right page, the address belongs to the intended business and the page is readable on a small screen. If the website moves later, maintain a redirect at the original address. The printed QR still contains that original URL and cannot discover a new location by itself.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change the destination later?
Not on a static code: the address is inside the pattern. If you may need to change it, create a managed link in your account instead — then the printed code stays the same and you edit where it points.
Does a long address make the code harder to scan?
Yes. More characters means more modules in the same printed area. Shorten the address where you can, or print the code larger.
Which download format is best for printing?
SVG is a true vector file: a printer or designer can scale it to any size without losing edge quality, so it is the best thing to hand to a print shop. The PDF here places a high-resolution image of the same artwork on the paper size you choose, which suits home and office printing at that size. PNG is for screens and for systems that only accept images. Whichever you pick, print one copy at the final size and scan that copy yourself before ordering a batch — no format can guarantee a scan on a given printer, material or light.
