How these templates work
Choosing a template opens the generator for that kind of code with the design already set. You then fill in your own details — the web address, the network name and password, your contact fields — and the live preview redraws as you type. Everything is encoded in your browser, so what you type is never uploaded.
Darker foreground on a light background scans most reliably, and a higher error-correction level helps when a logo covers part of the symbol. None of that is a guarantee: printers, materials and lighting differ, so print one copy at the final size and scan it yourself before ordering more. The size calculator and the printing guide cover the measurements.
QR code templates — common questions
What exactly does a template change?
Only the appearance and the wording around the code: the two colours, the module shape, the error-correction level and the optional caption and call-to-action bar. It never fills in a web address, a Wi-Fi password, a phone number or a contact card — you type those yourself, and they stay on your device.
Can I change the design after applying a template?
Every part of it. A template is a starting point: once it is applied, the colour pickers, shape, error-correction level, logo upload and caption fields all work as normal. If you have already changed the design by hand and then open another template, the generator asks before replacing your work.
Are the previews on this page real scannable codes?
No. The small squares on each card are a decorative pattern showing the colours and module shape, and the caption and button-bar lines are the wording the template starts you with — both are for judging the finished look, not for scanning. Your real code is drawn in the generator once you have entered your own details, and you should scan a printed proof before ordering a batch.
Do templates cost anything or need an account?
No. Every design here is free, there is no signup and no watermark. The codes are static, so they keep working without any subscription — but the destination has to keep working too, which is up to you.
