Make a UPI payment QR code for your shop in India
Use the UPI ID you already receive payments on. This generator puts that ID, your payee name and an optional amount in a standard UPI payment link, then turns it into a printable QR code. You do not need a QRCode.so account to generate or download it, and you can add your shop logo and colours.
Find your UPI ID in your bank or payment app before starting. Copy the complete ID, including the part after the @ sign. A phone number alone is not a UPI ID. The generator checks the format; it cannot verify who owns the account. Scan your finished code and check the recipient shown in the payment app before displaying it.
UPI QR code with an amount, or without one
Let the customer enter the amount
Leave the amount empty for a reusable counter code. This suits a kirana shop, salon or café where each bill is different. The customer enters the total in their UPI app.
Pre-fill a price in rupees
Enter an amount such as ₹150 for a fixed-price item or a specific bill. You can also add a payment note. The payer must still check and approve the transaction in their app.
A downloaded payment QR is static: changing the form later does not update a printed copy. Generate and print a new one if the UPI ID or encoded amount changes. A blank amount is useful when you want the same counter sign to cover many different bills.
Using one UPI QR with different payment apps
A “universal UPI QR code” uses the standard UPI payment link instead of a link tied to one app. Customers can try it with UPI-enabled apps such as BHIM, Google Pay, PhonePe or their bank’s app. Acceptance depends on the app and receiving account, so test the actual printed code with the apps your customers use. QRCode.so is an independent tool and is not affiliated with these payment providers.
- Keep a clear border around the code and use dark modules on a light background.
- Download SVG for a print shop, or PNG/PDF for your counter card. Keep your logo small enough for reliable scanning.
- Check the recipient, amount and note after scanning. Payment confirmation comes from your bank or payment provider.

Frequently asked questions
Can I create a UPI QR code with an amount?
Yes. Enter the amount in rupees to pre-fill it in the payment request, or leave it blank so the customer can enter their bill total. The payer checks and approves the payment in their own UPI app.
Is this a universal UPI QR code generator?
It encodes a standard UPI payment link, rather than a link specific to one payment app. Test it with the UPI apps your customers use: acceptance depends on the app and the receiving account. QRCode.so does not issue or verify UPI accounts.
Does the payment QR expire?
The static QR image has no expiry set by QRCode.so. It continues to contain the same UPI details, but payments depend on that UPI ID staying active and on the payment provider accepting the request.
Is a UPI QR code proof that a shop is genuine?
No. Anyone can print a UPI code with any UPI ID. Before paying, check that the payee name shown by your own UPI app matches the business.
Can I track payments through this code?
Not here. Reconciliation happens in your bank or UPI app. This tool only builds the code — it never sees a payment.
Which download format is best for printing?
SVG is a true vector file: a printer or designer can scale it to any size without losing edge quality, so it is the best thing to hand to a print shop. The PDF here places a high-resolution image of the same artwork on the paper size you choose, which suits home and office printing at that size. PNG is for screens and for systems that only accept images. Whichever you pick, print one copy at the final size and scan that copy yourself before ordering a batch — no format can guarantee a scan on a given printer, material or light.
