GS1 formats (GS1-128, GS1 DataMatrix, GS1 Digital Link) are not implemented here, so nothing on this site is described as GS1 compliant.
Using barcodes on real products
An EAN-13, UPC-A or ITF-14 image drawn here is a correctly encoded symbol of the number you typed. It does not assign you that number. Retail identifiers are licensed by GS1, and ISBNs come from your national ISBN agency. If you print a number you were not allocated, retailers will reject it.
For internal use — shelves, assets, work orders, kitchen bins — Code 128 is usually the right choice: it takes letters and digits, adds its own check character and stays compact.
