Free Campaign QR Code Generator with UTM tags

This adds UTM parameters to your link without disturbing any query parameters the link already has. Your own web analytics then attributes the visit to the printed campaign.

What should the code do?

A tracked link that keeps existing query parameters.

Visits are counted by your own web analytics. A static QR code itself cannot be tracked.

Design

Code colour
On white. Always clear.

Module shape

Higher levels recover from more damage but make the code denser. A centred logo needs Q or H.

Printed below the symbol. Long text wraps onto up to four lines.

Captions and call-to-action bars are drawn outside the code, so the four-module quiet zone stays clear. Every download contains exactly the artwork shown in the preview.

Upload your logo

Add your brand to the centre of your QR code, or place it above or below. Always test the final code before printing.

How to make this code

  1. 1

Paste the destination, including any parameters it already needs.

  2. 2

Fill in the UTM tags you use — source, medium and campaign are enough for most reports.

  3. 3

Give each poster or location a different utm_content value so you can compare them.

Frequently asked questions

Does this count scans?

No. It counts visits in your website analytics. A static QR code cannot report a scan by itself — someone could scan it and never open the page.

Will the tags break my existing links?

No. Existing query parameters are kept and the UTM values are added alongside them.

Which download format is best for printing?

SVG is a true vector file: a printer or designer can scale it to any size without losing edge quality, so it is the best thing to hand to a print shop. The PDF here places a high-resolution image of the same artwork on the paper size you choose, which suits home and office printing at that size. PNG is for screens and for systems that only accept images. Whichever you pick, print one copy at the final size and scan that copy yourself before ordering a batch — no format can guarantee a scan on a given printer, material or light.
