QR codes and barcodes, explained briefly
Choose the right kind of code
A QR code can hold a web address, Wi-Fi settings or contact details. A one-dimensional barcode usually carries a product or stock number. Supported: QR, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, EAN-8, EAN-13, UPC-A, UPC-E, ITF-14, Codabar, Data Matrix, PDF417 and Aztec. Generating an EAN or UPC image does not assign you that number — check your retailer’s rules first.
Print it so it scans
SVG stays sharp at any size for a printer; PNG suits documents and screens. Keep a clear border, print one copy at final size and scan it before a batch. Check a code with the scanner or read why a code won’t scan.
*Ordinary code generation happens in your browser. QR Shops, account features, AI requests and optional link checks use servers. Static codes do not expire through this service; the website or shop they open has to stay online.
